Testimonials
As I considered options for a “for the rest of my life” home, I kept returning to Lakeview Village. The 60 year history and stability of this not-for-profit community, the spacious and beautiful campus, the many services and amenities attracted me. Most of all, the people seemed happy to be here. I have found it all to be true. Lakeview is a real village, a place where neighbors and staff enjoy, support and care about one another. It is a place and a philosophy that encourages folks to live with purpose, meaning and joy. I’m so glad I came!
– Lois W.

Lakeview is a safe, comfortable, and friendly place to live.
I am more than satisfied with Lakeview Village. It is an excellent retirement community located in a suburban neighborhood with mature trees, good food, many opportunities for achieving and maintaining fitness, as well as events, classes and activities to keep life enjoyable.
Lakeview has a long history of taking care of retired people. It is financially stable. They address any need that arises. They are open to suggestions by the residents.

Lakeview Village is a WONDERFUL place to enjoy your later years…don’t wait too long to move in. Downsizing is hard work, but the reality is that it must be done!

Moving to Lakeview Village is the best gift we have ever given our adult children. They are able to enjoy spending time with us as we age without the worry they’ll be responsible for our care.
– Ally J.
My parents were very happy living in their independent apartment. They made many friends with neighbors and kept busy with many social activities. They took classes to stay mentally and physically active. They were able to remain independent for many years. They have had good experiences in assisted living as well. I feel the staff is caring and engaging.
Our apartment, less than 1,200 square feet, is quite comfortable and feels like home. We are glad to have left behind worry about lawn care or plumbing problems. And we enjoy the friendships that we have developed with our neighbors. There is a strong sense of community at our end of the hall. And new residents would be more than welcome.
– Marilyn G.
I have never regretted my decision to come to Lakeview. It has met all my expectations.
– Carolyn C.

Our connection came to Lakeview from our physician Dr. Mark Peterson. As we come to the community over the years we saw it change in a positive way compared to others we had visited when making our choice to move. Also, that is a CCRC was another choice that was important to us.
– Merle S.

– Patty D.
I couldn’t pick a better group of people to be my neighbors and friends than the caring and interesting people who live here!
Lakeview is an amazing collection of folks who choose to live in community. Discovering a resident’s life story is an amazing gift. Conversations happen in the hallway, elevator, by the mail boxes, while walking the dog or waiting on the bus. New friends, new experiences and an amazing place to call home.
I see living at Lakeview as a good investment because our long term health care needs will be met while at the same time an enjoyable place to live.
– Dave G.
We visited retirement communities in the KC area as well as other states. Lakeview Village just felt like “home.”
– Kathy D.
Living at Lakeview is like living in a small community where everyone knows everyone and everyone cares for everyone. It’s truly a blessing to be a part of this community. I feel like we’re at home” at Lakeview.
– Janet S.
I have had the opportunity to lead activities and have gotten support for activities I create at JCCC. Our bus gets people there.
– Doreen M.
It’s Simply The Best!!
Being a not for profit organization the residents benefit from all that we pay. Management works hard and effectively to instill the desire to serve the residents into the thinking of all employees. The employees are the best and make the residents safe and comfortable.
– Stan M.
We came to Lakeview right after we turned 70. We wanted to spare our children the task of dragging us here someday. We have no regrets in the last three years about our decision. We have each found useful ways to serve and bless the community. We thoroughly appreciate the faith-based and tolerant atmosphere offered here. God bless the people who sixty years ago had this vision!!!
– Dan K.
I cannot think of anything that would make my senior living experience better than my stay at Lakeview Village so far.
I am blessed by great roofmates. Staff and residents are all friendly. The food is varied and delicious… and if the daily specials don’t take my fancy, there is a lot of variety on the always available menu. The grounds and the walking paths around the lakes are nicely maintained. I have not had a single regret about moving to Lakeview almost 3 years ago.
– Vickie K.
Lakeview Village management and staff are responsive, always there for your comfort, and want you to feel safe and secure in your home. Their responsiveness includes work orders, menu changes, activities, notifications, and most important friendliness.
– Kat G.
It is a “place” with an atmosphere of peace and quiet along with all kinds of activities and interest groups. You can be comfortable more on your own or hanging out with others.
– Martha F.
Lakeview Village has exceeded my expectations in every aspect of retirement living. The services I want or need are right here in the Village. I have enjoyed the friendliness and helpfulness of the residents that I have met.
– Terry B.
I’m so glad I moved to Lakeview Village. Both residents and staff are very welcoming and there are lots of social activities and exercise classes to enjoy as well as fitness centers and a pool.
Come and learn how Lakeview Village LifeCare Plan can give you peace of mind to enjoy all the benefits available to you here. Overall, the cost is not much greater than home ownership costs (ie taxes, insurance, utilities, repairs and replacements).
– Judie R.
It feels like home and one big happy family.
– Marion P.
We did a diligent search and compared this facility to others before our move; we have never regretted our decision to move to LakeView.
– Al V.
We did not know for sure how we would like apartment living at Lakeview, or whether we would like retirement living at all. But everything has worked out well. This has been one of the smartest decisions we have made and this has been a gift to our children. We are so well taken care of here at Lakeview.
– Bob S.
I was somewhat reluctant to consider this move because I thought it would be like a nursing home, was I ever wrong! We have a beautiful home in a residential neighborhood with great neighbors and a much more active lifestyle. We know that our future needs will be met and to top it off our children are as happy as we are! One of the best decisions we have made.
– Mike D.
Even though we are some of the youngest residents, we are thrilled with our decision to move here when we did. We have absolutely no regrets!!
– Beth M.
The thing I love about living at Lakeview is not only the feeling of being able to enjoy this era of life but to know I will be taken care of for the remaining years-plus love living life with so many happy people!
– Jan A.
Everyone is friendly, staff and residents.
– Anita M.
All the staff are friendly and helpful.
– Wayne H.
Lakeview Village is providing us with friendships, compassionate care, and responsiveness to our needs. We are so happy with our decision to make our home here!
– Joanne G.
Lakeview Village is a community of interesting, enthusiastic people who can age in place with confidence in their future care, relieving their children and relatives of making living arrangement decisions for them when it becomes necessary.
– Charlotte D.
Lakeview Village is a campus of multiple home styles. The care and concern the staff is wonderful. All of my questions were answered when asked before I moved in. Other questions arise after I was here but my mentor told me/showed me what I needed to know.
I was a landlord for 25 years and I especially appreciate not having to mow grass or shovel snow anymore.
– Joe M.
There are lots of opportunities for activities and social interaction and a sense of community.
– Phyllis M.
Lakeview Village a wonderful place to retire to. The grounds and buildings are great, but the staff is outstanding. The staff is very involved with the residents and there is a boat load of activities to get involved with. In fact there are more activities than one has time partake. Of all decisions I have made in my life there only three that I would never change and coming to Lakeview Village is one of the three.
– Larry L.
Other than who I married & having children, it’s the best decision I ever made!
– Cathy L.
I moved from another state, not knowing a soul in Lenexa other than my daughter, and I have felt welcomed from the minute I arrived. The transition was smooth, with all of my questions and request met with kindness and an eagerness to help. I am happy with the services and opportunities they provide. I feel at home and never regretted my decision about moving to Lakeview.
I love Lakeview, it is my home, I am very comfortable and safe here.
– Kathy B.
I feel very fortunate to be able to live at Lakeview Village at this stage of my life. It provides a safe, beautiful and interesting place for me to live in. They work very hard to make it an active and safe environment.
We feel very blessed to be living at Lakeview Village. It was the best decision for us and we can highly recommend it to others.
– Cindy R.
After living here one and a half years I can say I feel Lakeview has delivered what was promised. I absolutely love the location of my apartment and the Art studio below. My effort to become acquainted with the population has been rewarded with a feeling of acceptance and warmth. The staff provides willingness to help with a pleasant additude. I feel hopeful this will continue as I age at Lakeview.
– Joan L.
The Lakeview lifestyle gives me freedom from all of the chores I never liked to do and the time to do the things that bring me joy.
You cannot go wrong by living here. Wish we had moved here sooner.
Lakeview Village is a real community of people. We check on each other. People are friendly and go out of their way to help in any way. Current residents reach out to new residents moving in.
– Helen D.
I have been impressed with the wide variety of talents and experiences our residents possess and share. It is easy to make friends in this caring environment.
– Peter D.
It is never too early to move to Lakeview Village. It is a beginning of a wonderful lifestyle with caring staff and caring fellow residents. It is home.
It feels like a small town. We have made more close friends here than any other time in our life.
I always tell people, I have the best of both worlds. “If I want to be with people, I can be, if I want to be alone, I can be”. Love the socialization aspect of Lakeview Village. I have made so many new friends.
The sense of community/village is almost palpable, for both residents and staff.
I believe that Lakeview is the best senior living community in the KC area…period.
My social life has exploded! I have always been social, but this is different. I have made friends here that I cannot imagine my life without.
Forever young. This is a place to grow old without feeling alone. It engenders a feeling of belonging more than any community I have lived in throughout my life.
The villas are wonderful. They are so well designed. I love to entertain in mine.
When we first looked at Lakeview Village, we were impressed with how friendly the residents were. Now that we are residents every resident we’ve met have gone out of their way to answer any of our questions and make us feel at home.
I feel this is a community of people who work and relax and play together. I have always felt welcome Lakeview is Home! Love it here
It is a nice place to live. We have a great patio home. Lots of nice people. Plenty of things to do. Great people to work with.
It is a comfortable, classy environment, faith based, non smoking, and not for profit which are all important to me.
Outstanding physical fitness classes and activities! Fun exercise classes or individual help for any level of ability and interest!
There are so many choices of activities I have trouble choosing!
Exercise classes are readily available and fun
This is my Home ….I’m satisfied!
Very nice people live here. Very nice people made our patio home a reality. A joy to work with.
It’s a real community. People are very friendly and helpful including the staff, from the grounds crew to the maintenance staff, to the house cleaners.
Feeling of a residential neighborhood. Willingness of staff and leadership to care for us.
That wide range of services are offered and they seem to be anticipating what we might need into the future!
There is a large variety of activities and staff is willing to do anything for you. Staff is always positive and I love that.
I like that the focus here is on wellness. Lots of different classes to improve your health. Classes for all levels of activity.
It’s the loving people, the hundreds that live here and the hundreds that work here and what that brings. (And, someone else doing the cooking and cleaning doesn’t hurt, either.)
Feels like home
Great place to live.
Great place. Happy to be lucky enough to be here.
They schedule some outstanding entertainment and the group activities available are many and varied. And residents are always encouraged to gather interest groups and start new activities.
The people who live here and the people who work here are the best thing about the Lakeview Village community. It’s a first class place!
It is an extraordinary friendly place to live
Feeling of community both among the residents themselves and between the residents and the staff.
The friends we have made, the opportunity to improve our well being thru exercise and interaction with others.
The staff seem to sincerely care about the residents and helping them to enjoy their retirement.
It is a Continuing Care Retirement Community and we can be assured that whatever our life situation will be we will receive the care we need. Secondly the people (residents) who live here are very interesting and very enjoyable to associate with.
There are so many and varied choices and opportunities to interact with a variety of people and nature. The sizes and variety of living spaces, volunteer activities and amount of green space, including water features, mean a sense of freedom and still a strong sense of community with links to nature and wildlife. The library, resident lead “university” courses and part-year book groups, along with the proximity to quite varied churches, including an in-house Chaplin stimulate the mind and spirit. In spite of handy shopping options with in < 1 mile, resident volunteers in the dozens operate a community fundraising secondhand shop that strengthens the community, we residents, and staff members in productive shared tasks. Having children's day care that serves staff families and the community keeps people from feeling isolated in an elder community, even if they have no young family nearby.
There are a lot of community activities and celebrations. It is quite fun living here.
This is a multi-faceted organization and it takes many people working together. They have had many years to build this organization, and they have done it well. I feel content and well cared for here. In my 21 years here I have never regretted my choice.
I like having my garage at my fingertips. My car is my hobby.
The best thing is that they want you to be comfortable and happy in your home.
There is always something of interest to do or to volunteer for.
The quality of life at Lakeview has exceeded our expectations. The entire campus is clean, our apartment is quiet at all times, the quality of the food is very good, the portions are generous and the menu varies from week to week. We really like having our car garaged in the basement of our apt. building. Our apartment is cleaned every two wks. We have a weekly laundry service for all flat pieces; bedding, towels, table cloths, etc. The hallways & public bathrooms are also kept clean. We are provided weekly scheduled free bus service to local grocery and big box stores and Sunday Mass at the local Catholic Church. Lakeview has a resident chaplain who conducts Sunday services on campus. Their are also numerous lay chaplains to assist with residents spiritual needs. The Life Care available for those who qualify is a great advantage over other retirement communities as is the Care Center for residents needing short term or long term care. My husband has been in the Care Center for several months due to Parkinson’s Disease. He is getting very good care. There is also a Rehab facility for those recovering from surgery and in need of physical therapy and short term care.
I really appreciate that the staff make an effort to always be attentive and friendly- great feeling of family with other residents.
There is a large variety of activities and staff is willing to do anything for you.
I am glad I do not have to cook! Servers are so gracious and efficient! Maintenance staff so helpful. Also reception desk folks. Joe, Brooke and Lisa work so hard to make exercise fun and invigorating. Olympics were a fun, innovative diversion! Sara Jo, chaplain is great! I have enjoyed services, Bible studies and being a lay chaplain.
Staff is great. Love the variety of activities. Residents are friendly and agree that we all made the right decision to move here.
All of the residents we have met in the Village are friendly, welcoming, intelligent people. We enjoy activities and friendships with many couples and think the population here is the very best thing about the community.
There are so many services available at Lakeview Village: dining, housekeeping, beauty shops, a Sunday chapel service, a bank, the What Not Shop, a Child Development Center, a library, an exercise room, pool, a health clinic, all kinds of programs, movies, classes, off-campus activities, and on and on. Hundreds of really wonderful people (including lots of volunteers) make these services work for the hundreds of people (includes a lot of the volunteers) that are fortunate to live here and use these services. This is, indeed, a village. And, the location in Lenexa is perfect!
The aesthetics about the Lakeview campus and my individual apartment are extraordinary.
Lakeview Village is a true community where people care about each other, enjoy each other’s company, and can live full and meaningful lives as we age.
We are one big happy family
Every Manager and Employee Sincerely CARES! Or at least I’ve yet to find one who didn’t care and I’ve worked with a lot of them on different occasions!
The building I chose is physically connected to many amenities and activities so I do not have to go out for most services/meals.
Staff and residents alike are great; feels like true community. Living accommodations are great. So pleased and blessed to live here.
I enjoy the campus. Trees and gardens and even lakes all add to the enjoyment of living here.
It’s a beautiful, comfortable, safe, supportive and exceptionally friendly community.
Our building has an art studio overlooking a lake with fountain. There are two high rise buildings, a care center, rehabilitation building with larger fitness center and salt water pool, cottages, duplexes and villas, as well as a greenhouse and garden areas.
The staff are personally interested in our well being, physically, emotionally and mentally. Administration is responsive to the needs of the residents.
The knowledge that I will have the care I need for the remainder of my life. Also the feeling that I live in a neighborhood, not just an apartment building.
The residents and staff are very positive. The residents are very happy here.
Our Lakeview Village Market offers an incredible shopping experience. It is run by 11 volunteering residents, who also handle all supply purchases, pricing and stocking of the shelves. Residents can make requests for any items they need and we don’t have. These special orders are available for pickup once a week. To ensure we are able to satisfy our residents with competitive pricing the resident volunteer and store keeper makes purchases from up to 6 stores and vendors. Residents family members come to visit their parents from overseas. Recently we had a family member traveling from Japan. He did not have a car and bought things from our store, he was very impressed with the opportunity our residents have. Our market has convenient hours in the morning and afternoon for residents and staff to shop and mingle with residents. It is a very friendly place to visit. Having visited many retirement opportunities prior to select Lakeview Village I don’t think you find any retirement campus who offers an opportunity like Lakeview Village.
It truly feels like a “village” which it takes a “village” they say!!
Even in independent living, when we ask for help, it is there with a smile.
The Curana Medical Clinic is on site and is very helpful. There is a library staffed by residents. Extended care facilities are on site (Care Center, Rehab, Assisted Care). PT services are available. There are 2 hair salons, a studio for artists and a woodworking shop, a swimming pool with classes as well as other exercise classes. A What Not Shop is run by resident volunteers to handle and sell household items & furnishings left by families after a unit is vacated. There are common areas on each floor of the high rises where residents play cards, work puzzles, and socialize. There are a few recent movies shown in the activity center, as well as music groups brought in for entertainment. And there is a Lakeview Channel on TV that is run by residents showing residents’ travel slides with music, come exercise classes and some regular programming put on by Lakeview. There are gardening plots for people who want them. There are 2 lakes with walking paths, as well as side walk areas around the complex for walkers. Lakeview has 3 high rises, as well as villas and cottages. A few community activities are highlighted: a 4th of July parade that does down the street in front of our complex. Once a year Lakeview puts on a Cookout where the community is invited. And Lakeview has a Daycare and Preschool facility within the complex. There are several buses that go around the campus every half hour that will take you to another building or location on campus. There are also weekly or bi-weekly trips to local stores and there are outings planned for a dinner night out, theater or other events.
They are not for profit and all that we pay comes back to the residents.
I think every amenity that there could be has been thought of and provided. Everyone here is happy, and that makes for very pleasant living conditions everyday.
Joe & activity group think up wonderful activities for us to do such as Senior Olympics so creative & FUN. Everyone so helpful & friendly! Feels like home
This place is so friendly and truly is a village. Everyone helps one another.
We have many options for activities. The fitness center is well maintained. Staff with community life are very good and provide excellent options for maintaining health and fitness. There are many options for volunteering within and outside the facility.
The security staff is very good. They serve all day, seven days.
The Volunteer opportunities in the Village Market, the What Not Shop, the Library, and the Resident’s Council are excellent involvement for the resident and as they offer needed services to residents and to their families. The weekly social hours are also an excellent way to get together. There are great opportunities to stay involved and not be alone or lonely.
I’m just glad I live here!
I’m very happy with my cottage and with the maintenance staff.
Therapy personnel are excellent. The library is well staffed and run by the residents.
I feel safe and know if that if my needs change and I need more care that I won’t have to leave Lakeview.
My future as I age feels secure. It’s a relief that I won’t have to rely so much on family or friends as I age.
They genuinely care about their residents and treat them above and beyond when circumstances occur and changes occur.
